A screw loose

come_to_thinkThe other day, I bumped my head on the lamp over my dining table (the kind with joints & springs so that they stay where you push them), and a screw fell on the table --- 4-40, 5/8", by the look of it --- with a small washer on it. I could not find any place on the lamp to put it back. Also, it has a slotted head, and all the screws on the lamp are Phillips. No noticeable change in the performance of the lamp.
The obvious alternative is that it fell out of my head, and (as in an old joke) presently when I blow my nose it will fall off. Not yet, anyway.
