Day 25 -- A first, in great detail
Nov. 11th, 2010 08:51 pmThe first time I saw two men hug each other. Might have been 1962 (age 24) or 1972 (age 34). I was in Robbie's Cafeteria, a studentish hangout in Berkeley, CA. (It was reputed to have been the haunt of important physicists in the old days.) When visiting Berkeley, I used to go there for brunch (shrimp fried rice & beer). Two bearded young men, who had evidently not seen each other for a long time, happened on each other there. One of them pointed at the other & said "Ratatatatat", and they flew into each other's arms. It was one of the most beautiful things I had ever seen.
